The Eight Limbs of Yoga Series - 7. DHYANA
Time & Location
About The Event
In Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, the eightfold path is called Ashtanga, which literally means "eight limbs".
Laur Bee and Sri Vijay Anand will guide you through eight sessions where you can delve deeper into yogic philosophy and learn how to incorporate Patanjali's teachings into our modern lives.
Session 7. DHYANA
Meditative Absorption.
Known as the uninterrupted flow of concentration, DHYANA is ultimately a state of being deeply aware without focus. When we become completely absorbed in the focus of our meditation, this is when we’re really meditating. At this stage, the mind has been quietened, and in the stillness it produces limited or no thoughts at all. The determination and focus it requires to reach this level of stillness is remarkably impressive. Essentially; if you are really meditating, you won’t have the thought ‘oh, I’m meditating!' but you will be present within complete stillness.
During the two hour workshop there will be a 45 minute asana practice based around DHYANA and throughout the session we will discuss what Patanjali meant by DHYANA and how we can use these practices in our modern lives.
*There will be eight sessions on each of the Eight Limbs, please feel free to join any that attract you, and a discount is offered when booking all eight.
